UkiGarden club was established to foster friendships through gardening and to exchange knowledge and advice about plants and gardens. It meets on the last Saturday of each month at a different member’s garden each time.

The Club is non-competetive (i.e. it doesn’t have benching and shows) although various members participate in local flower shows, garden competitions and agricultural events.

The Club organises activities such as:

·         Bus trips

·         Guest speakers at meetings

·         Plant swaps

·         Open gardens

·         Seed bank

·         Monthly newsletter

·         Networking with other clubs

·         Sponsoring local parks and public gardens

·         Supporting local charities

As well as the regular monthly Saturday meetings The Club also runs the Food Group on the second Tuesday of each month. Activities in this group are similar to that of the main Garden Club, but focus entirely on growing and using food. Wherever possible this group encourages its members to use organic and permaculture principles centred around composting, worm farming, lunar planting, companioning and natural pest control. Members have a wealth of experience in growing the best varieties for the
Tweed and often share yummy produce and recipes with each other.

Come and join us! Despite its name, Uki Garden Club has members from all over the Tweed. We are a happy group of people from all backgrounds and ages, brought together by the love of gardening. Membership is $20 (online) or $25 (if you receive your newsletter through Australia Post) which includes the whole family.
