At a community meeting in August 2000 the Uki community completed an Action Plan. This Plan identified a wide range of key projects to be carried out in Uki and District by the local community
Since 2000 a great deal of time and energy has been spent on these projects, and some have been successfully completed, for example the upgrading of the Buttery into a community building.
Council has also recently completed the Uki Locality Plan with a significant contribution by the residents of Uki. The Locality Plan includes some actions which will be undertaken by the local community as well as Council. Some of those actions were also included in the 2000 Action Plan.
Because it was seven years since the Action Plan was prepared the Uki Village and District Residents Association considered it was the right time to bring it up to date with the preparation of the Uki and District Community Action Plan 2007.
Over the last 8 weeks or so the Association has been canvassing from the community what is important about living in the District, how residents think Uki may have changed since 2000 (if at all). And also the projects that you think are needed in Uki and District.
