Living Moon

Paola Emma is an award winning Astrologer, publisher and quality bookseller.   She offers Astrological readings and counselling, including Synastry or relationship readings, re-location charts, baby chart booklets, original art horoscopes, etc.  She also provides tutorials, workshops and courses.
Her aim is to promote a better understanding of Astrology as a spiritual discipline and a counselling tool, thus helping to dispel its identification with hocus-pocus and fortune telling.

After studying Ancient History and Psychology at the University of Rome for four years, she dropped out and set off on her inner journey through India and beyond and eventually in 1982 moved from Italy to Australia with her partner Li. They settled in the Tweed Valley and in 2004 they opened the lovely Quality Recycled Bookshop Fortuna in Uki’s grand Old Buttery.

Interested in Astrology since high school she started studying it in earnest in 1979 with ever growing  intensity and passion. She started practice in 1985 and has casted and interpreted hundreds of Natal and Progressed Charts. Since 1989 she has held numerous beginners and advanced courses, privately tutored many students and since 2000 has published Student Booklets, Moon Calendars and Diaries.

When taking the exams with the Federation of Australian Astrologers she earned the ‘Silver Medal Allan Johnson Award’ for the highest marks in calculation, the ‘Silver Medal Doris Greaves Award’ for the highest marks in interpretation and the ‘Gold Medal for Excellence’ for obtaining the highest aggregate marks in Australia for all four FAA exam modules. She also won the ‘John Clarke’s Memorial Scholarship’ which provided the means to travel to the United Astrological Congress in Denver, Colorado in May 2007. One of her essays was published in the FAA Journal.

Amongst her publications is ‘Astrologia©’, a monthly journal that came out over 2000 and 2001, a yearly Astrological Diary ‘Dionysus©’ in 2003 which included 13 mythological stories from the Greek pantheon, art works by herself and her friend Leonie Barron, Ephemeris, Transits and Transits Readings plus many tables of Astrological information and recently (2009) a Moon Gardening Almanac called ‘The Living Moon©’. She is working on the next issue due out at the Aries Equinox (March21, 2010).

Since 2003 all her work is published under the name ‘Spirit of the Waterfall Laptop Publishing’.

On top of all this she finds time to be a regular contributor to The Uki News and to the Byron Bay quarterly magazine ‘The Art of Healing’.
